F2 LPe - Rosh Hashanah
18 October 2021 (by Lauren Wood (lauren.wood))
Today we learnt all about Rosh Hashanah, which is Jewish New Year. We learnt that it is celebrated in Autumn and a special horn called a shofar is blown 100 times to signal the start of the new year. We also learnt that to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Jewish people eat special bread called challah bread, with honey, apples and pomegranate seeds. They eat sweet foods to help them think about the sweet and happy new year. We all joined in to help to make challah bread this morning, and then we tasted it with with apple, honey and pomegranate seeds.
