Y4 - GSp Ancient Greek Day

16 December 2021 (by Grace Spavold (grace.spavold))

WHAT a day! It’s been fantastic and the children have made such an effort, from their head dresses to their sashes! Our morning work consisted of creating secret messages using the Greek alphabet for our Kagan partners to work out which they loved! We then moved onto Pottery painting, the children created their own scene for their vase and added their own funky pattern onto it. Some of their scenes included Theseus and the Minotaur, Perseus and Medusa, a Spartan soldier and the all seeing eye of the Gray sisters! They got very creative and we have some great artists in Year 4. Our afternoon included learning all about Helen of Troy which included some acting. The whole of Year 4 created a Greek courtroom to decide which party was guilty; Helen? Paris? We looked at some evidence and cast our vote. Maybe you could ask your child who was guilty?

They have had a fantastic day, thank you for your help with costume and accessory ideas!

Just a reminder that tomorrow is a non-uniform day but must wear suitable footwear as we will be walking round the Hall a few times seeing The Big Man!

I’ve attached some photo’s to the gallery of today, enjoy :)
