Y2 - First Week Back
14 January 2022 (by Amelia Stanley (amelia.stanley))
I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I am so impressed with how the children have all come back to school, ready to learn! Thank you for returning all of the equipment sent home, if you do happen to have anything left at home please could you return on Monday.
This week we have been learning about graphs in maths and collecting and recording data in different ways. We then answered questions about the graphs and explained what we know. It was tricky to remember how to work out more than and fewer than but we all showed growth mindsets and managed to do it! Well done! Please could you remember to go on Times Tables Rockstars 3 times a week for 3 minutes - we are checking!
In English we have been reading 'Chocolate Planet' and focusing on the vocabulary used. We created a circle map of all of the interesting vocabulary which the author used and we had a go at creating our own sentences using the words we liked. Can you spot any interesting vocabulary in your books at home?
We have started our history topic on 'Air Travel' and we have been researching the Wright Brothers and analysing sources of information. It was really interesting looking at the different sources and discovering new things. We can't wait to continue to find out more.
A great first week everyone, well done!
