Y6 CLiADw Welcome Back!

14 January 2022 (by Alex Downing (alex.downing))

We hope you had a restful holiday and it is great to see you all back at school. This week we have started quite a few new units of work. How exciting! In English, we have started reading Trash by Andy Mulligan. We have analysed the setting of the story (a dump site) and completed character studies on the three main characters: Raphael, Gardo and Rat. We have also started reading another book called Holes by Louis Sachar, which tells the story of Stanley Yelnats and the unfortunate events that happen in his family. In maths, we have looked at calculating fractions of amounts and we are due to move start decimals next week. Mrs Brown spoke to Y6 this morning about the importance of homework and revision. This is not only to commit learning into long term memory but is also good practise for high school. Please find time during the week to complete all tasks on Google Classroom and use our recommended online learning platforms: Monster SATs, TTRS/prodigy, BBC Bitesize for revising topics regularly. Looking forward to the term ahead, Mr D and Mrs L :)
