This week the children have been developing their knowledge of time. They are now gaining an understanding of using an analogue clock, using the minute and hour hand, finding quarter past and quarter to and finally starting to read the time in five minute intervals. To help them further, you could encourage your child to tell the time on an analogue clock, at home.

During our English lessons we have been reading 'The Chocolate Planet', which the children really enjoyed. The children have been working on using adjectives to describe the noun and using adverbs to help create interest in their writing. They have started to create their own planet and will be writing stories next week.

This week in RE the children have been looking in the Bible. They now know that there are two sections to the Bible and they have been learning about the Gospels and some of the stories within them.

The Wright Brothers have been our focus in history and from their invention, they have  gained an understanding of how flight has changed dramatically over the years.

We have been learning all about Elizabeth Blackwell in our Class Reader. The children have been working on their reading skills, retrieval techniques and sequencing the events of her life. You could ask your child what they can remember about her.

Have a lovely weekend
